What Georgia asks for
These are the renewal rules the plan tracker on this site counts against. They apply to licensed professional counselors; social workers and marriage & family therapists renew under the same board with their own specifics.

Total, per two-year cycle
Clock hours of continuing education completed during your renewal period. Licenses expire September 30.

In professional ethics
Ethics hours must be earned synchronously — a live class or live webinar, not self-paced coursework.

Live or synchronous
At most 15 of the 35 hours may be asynchronous. Course listings rarely say which they are, so ask the provider.
This site is not the board
Requirements change, and they differ by license type and by where you are in your first renewal cycle. Confirm anything you plan to rely on with the Georgia Composite Board, and confirm that a specific course is approved for your license with whoever is running it.
